The Teaching Advisory Commission (CAD), delegated commission of the Faculty Board, approved on February 21 the schedule of theoretical and practical classes for the 2013-2014 academic year.
The theoretical class schedules include the following changes:
– Next year Preventive Medicine, Sanitary Police and Public Health will be taught for the first time in the 4th grade of the second semester, assigned to the Animal Health area. This area also teaches Epidemiology in the first year of the Degree (also in the second semester), and therefore they would also have to teach the subject of the degree in Preventive Medicine and Health Policy in the second semester. To avoid this concentration of teaching in one semester in this area, it was approved to change the semester of teaching a subject, moving the subject of the Bachelor's Degree to the first semester.
– On the other hand, Animal Production of the Degree (fourth year) and Animal Production of the Bachelor's Degree (fifth year) will be taught next year. Both subjects have a similar number of theoretical hours (90 hours), but Animal Production of the Degree is taught exclusively in the first semester. Therefore, it was approved that the theoretical classes of Animal Production be taught in their entirety in the first semester jointly (Bachelor and Degree). Degree internships are taught only in the first semester, and Bachelor's internships throughout the year, as it is an annual subject.
– In order to compensate both semesters, the subjects Deontology and Medical Pathology II had to be transferred to the second semester. Otherwise the first semester would be overloaded with hours.
– This coincidence between fourth (Grade) and fifth (Bachelor) subjects occurs again in Food Hygiene, Inspection and Control. The HICA of the Degree is taught in the second semester, while it is an annual subject in the Degree. For this reason, it has been approved that both subjects, by sharing duration and content, can be taught at the same time in the same classroom; Therefore, the theory will be taught jointly in the second semester, although the practices will continue to be annual.
After this CAD, coordination meetings were held in each course and semester in such a way that the practices of the different subjects have been coordinated so that the choice of groups of practices makes it possible to attend all the practices of the subjects, for this purpose it has been limited the number of groups to convene on a date and an agreed change of practice at 10:30 or 15:30 hours for those practices lasting less than 2 hours.
