Farm practices report of the Faculty

As explained in the Faculty Board, the start-up of the Faculty Farm requires an initial investment and financing for its annual maintenance. Neither the deanery nor the departments have sufficient financial resources to carry out this project.

We need to prepare the project that has been requested by the University Manager to know exactly the amount of this investment. For this reason, we require all professors who need to carry out internships at the Faculty Farm to meet the learning objectives of the students to send the internship report at the Faculty Farm.

We remind you that the established conditions are:

1.- All activities planned on the farm must be detailed in the Teaching Project for the subject. Hence the contents to be included in point 1 and which correspond to the writing of the teaching project.
2.- The request must be realistic and adjust to: needs linked to the learning objectives of the subject and the capacity to house farm animals, as well as the species that can legally be housed.
3.- All practices on the Livestock Farm must be subject to a report from the Animal Welfare Ethics Committee of the ULPGC for submission to the Ministry of Agriculture since we are affected by RD 53/2013.
4.- If the financing of management was not sufficient to cover the needs, it would be necessary to study the co-financing with the subjects.
5.- In the case of requiring the use of the Experimental Agricultural Farm, they must take into account the sanitary vacuum that is carried out 40 days before and after the celebration of the Livestock Fair. This means not having accommodation during that period in the Faculty itself and the consequences that derive from it.

The document sent to all faculty must be filled out for each practice (and especially separated by species) in such a way that a compilation of the reports presented will then be made and a final report will be prepared from the deanery for approval by the Farm Subcommittee. of the Faculty before sending it to Management and Rector.

THE DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF THE REPORT IS THE NEXT MAY 8. In the event of not receiving information on any subject, it will be understood that they will not carry out internships at the Farm in the 2015-2016 academic year.
